I did not create them, so what would happen if I delete the "users" named
"LocalService" and "NetworkService" from C:\Documents and Settings?

Much of your computer would not function, if it would boot at all. These are normal, built in system accounts.

OK, thank you. And what about deleting the desktop.ini files? What exactly do
these desktop.ini files contain? How about deleting the "Default User?

What is it with all the "I don't know what this is, so I want to delete it"
hmm? Are you running low on diskspace? We can maybe help with that, but
running around deleting everything that you don't recognise is not the best
place to start.

Default User is a template account thats used to create new accounts. You
want to either leave it well alone or use it to customise new accounts that
you create. You certainly don't want to delete it.

I AM HUMBLED BY YOUR TENOR.
It's just that I recently heard of virus' and spyware that adds ".ini" files
to people's computers and edits Registry. I guess I must be a dunderhead
'cause I just didn't know if these users and files were legit or not. I
stand corrected and will leave the items in question "well enough alone".
Thank you, Mr. Moir.
