Hi - There are a number of programs I find indispensible in XP and all are
free (My question is below).

Zone Alarm (the free version)

Crap Cleaner

SpyBot

Ad Aware

MRU Blaster

BC Wipe

RegClean (Microsoft's Registry Cleaning tool - Yep, I use it in XP and never
had a problem).

Prefetch Manager

I couldn't get Zone Alarm to work with Vista.

Question: Has anyone else gotten any of these programs to work with Vista
or am I the guinea pig?

Thanks

Joe

that a question for those 3rd party tools... including the regclean as it is
no longer supported by MS.

i'm sure they'll have versions out soon. we are all guinea pigs during beta...

my favorite free firewall "Sygate" has been aquired by symantec :(

I only use that free firewall and Windows XP firewall, no other security or
so called Clean Up software and only Clean install on MS partitions.
Never had issues with stability or, I never had a virus or malicious
software infection....knock on wood. (i have scanned) on numerous systems
with this configuration in XP, all solid as a rock.

but I'm not saying this would work for everyone.

eheh...what are you gonna do.

to each his own.
