I LIKE SOME OF THE FEATURES IN MOVIE MAKER 2, BUT I WANT EXACT TIME DIMENSIONS FOR PICTURE AND VIDEOS PLACEMENT ON THE TIMELINE. I GET THIS USING OTHER PROGRAMS. WHEN I TRY TO OPEN THOSE FILE UP IN MM2 IT WON'T LET ME, HOW DO I CONVERT OTHER PROJECT FROM OTHER PROGRAMS TO BE COMPATIBLE/ OR ARE THEY PLANNING TO EXPAND THE CAPABILITIES OF MM2 SO I WONT NEED OTHER PROGRAMS
 
I guess you'll always want features that are not in MM2..... it's an entry
level software app and it will probably stay that way. As you learn about
digital video editing and look for additional features, it'll be normal to
want to move up to mid-level and higher-end software.

That doesn't mean the capabilities won't be expanded, but the goal isn't to
move from entry-level to high-end software by adding more capabilities.

The answer to your question is.............................................

Movie Maker can only open projects that it itself made. The other programs
you refer to would not be able to open a Movie Maker project either.

Movie Maker can open a wide range of file types (Stills and Video) You have
not said what file type you want to open so further copmment is not
possible
