I have an other device listed on my new motherbd and I
can't seem to be able to get rid of it. Secondly, my
external harddrive which was working on my old computer is
not recognized by the new machine. I'm guessing other
would be where a 1394 driver is, but there is no listing
of how to get it into the machine.

How do I confimer that it is my 1394 built into the bd?
the manufacture asus says nothing about it in their
utility disk so I"m sort of lost.

Maxtor says it's a windows problem?

An entry under "Other Devices" in Device Manager indicates that Windows
doesn't have a driver for a device and can't determine the type of
device it is. You basically need to look at the cards that are in the
system and the components that are on the motherboard. Compare those
with whats listed in Device Manager to see what is missing. Once you
determine what is missing go to that vendors web site to get a driver
for it.
