In Outlook 2000/2002 there was the ability on the outlook
bar to rename
calendar shortcuts.
When I installed the prerelease of Outlook 2003 these
became a new group
under "calendars" on the NAV Bar called "Other
Calendars". This was great as
the renamed shortcut showed above the calander view when
the checkbox was
ticked ( multi view of other calendars). Until I wanted
to add another
shortcut which I couldn't and when I used the "My
Calendars) views all I get
above each calendar view is "Calender" ( not the best
when there are many
open as colours are only so helpful). I don't know
wether this is a feature that is not working , has been
changed or has been removed.Any help would be appriciated

Correct. Shortcuts is the old way; Calendar is the new with the new features. You have to decide which features are more important for you.

True except that the shortcut only allows a single calendar views whereas
the "Other Calendars" Group I have has check boxes to allow multiple
calendar views in a single pane

You can still used the old-style shortcuts by clicking the Shortcuts icon at
the bottom of the navigation pane. In the Calendars area, each shortcut
shows the name of the calendar folder itself, except for those from other
users.

Thats all very well but being able to rename the tirles in Calendar view
would be a small ask and unbelievably useful ( this appears rather like the
Quick Launch fiasco In with IE401 out with IE 5 back in with the OS ). It
would be very nice if Microsoft stopped trying to second guess what their
customer base finds useful and removing features based on those assumptions.
It appears I will have to install 2002 everytime I want to use this feature
and "upgrade" it once I have implimented the calander short cuts I want.

Thanks for your reply Sue at least now I know how to go about getting the
result I need
Cheers
