other antispyware programs

A recent comparative review of antispyware programs led others to suggest
that yes, it is a good idea to run more than one antispyware program.

However, much of the difference between Microsoft Antispyware in the current
build, and products such as Spybot search & destroy and Lavasoft's ad-aware,
is that the latter two products consider cookies to be significant, and
Microsoft Antispyware does not scan for them. This may change in a future
beta release, but for now, if you view cookies as a threat, use one of the
other products to scan and remove them.

I agree, we have been arming our desktop team with
a "cocktail" of 2-3 AntiSpyware tools to combat this
threat.

You have to remember that with AntiSpyware technology, we
are back in the early 90's with AntiVirus technology.
Every AntiSpyware product is immature and is very toolkit-
like.

No single A/S technology is ready to fight the Spyware
threat.

Agreed! This product does quite well, and adds to the tool kit--the System
Explorers are a better way to defang some things than telling Aunt Mary to
go into RegEdit and .....

But it doesn't catch everything, nor clean perfectly all that it
catches....yet.
