I have a possible off topic question. We have a small peer to peer network
with no real IT guy. The boss asked me if there was any software (he means
freeware) that would allow one user at one machine to view a live desktop of
another machine. And will they know there being viewed? These are mostly
win2k machines.

We use VNC and Ultra-VNC (the more up-to-date) one. The Ultra-VNC has file
transfer capabilities along with encryption. It also works faster. It
appears to be free. I think larger organisations must pay for it.

I've been using PC Anywhere for several years and am quite happy with it.

You can buy it on ebay for $16
