Stupidly I deleted the source files before trying to retrieve them from
yousendit.
Connection reset. Time after time, no matter what time of day.
Thankfully a 200 MB file would not upload because of the useless
connection, since I know I wouldn't be able to retrieve it.
The download link remains valid for 60 seconds before expiring and
moving elsewhere. I tried following their instructions for using a
download manager and failed.
The closest I came yesterday to retrieving the 100 MB file was 95%, then
they dropped one of my 8 connections.
Never again.

Rant over.

I've had crap luck with YouSendIt too. Of 5 files I tried to send
to a friend, they never arrived -- and the confirmation link the
site gave me failed to work after a few minutes too. Looks like
the site has some problems.

On the assumption that it may be a problem of some sort at your end, try
emailing the download link to a friend and ask them to retrieve the file
for you. YouSendIt holds on to files for a week or so as I recall- how
long ago did you upload your file?

Odd. Ho hum. I retrieved the first couple of hundred MB's from them with
no problem and then it all went pear shaped. I was assuming it was the
site...

I've tried it on broadband and dial up on 2 computers over the last few
days with the same results. thx for your feedback; I will investigate
further. Perhaps the buggers simply like the files and want to keep
them... :-)

Yep; this is the way to go. Thx.

_jo_, lunedì 29/nov/2004:

Yep, it's my preferred d/l manager because has a small memory footprint and
works with Firefox (monitoring the clipboard).

There is only one thing I don't like, though: it writes _every_ minute on
the file WinGet.que in its directory, even when it isn't doing anything,
sitting quiet in the system tray. I wish it were a way to stop this.
