hi guys,

My parents brought me a second-hand lap top from USA. It is IBM , Think Pad
Manufactured apparently in 2000.

I don't have the Manual, Driver CD, Mother board CD etc.

It had windows 2000 installed but it was slow but everything was OKAY. I
decided to install windows 98 2nd edition
on it. BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOW THAT THE SCREEN SIZE HAS REDUCED TO 400/600
AND I CAN'T
MAXIMIZE IT. Looks like the windows doesn't recognises the Monitor and gets
it as Default Monitor. I can't resize it
from the Monitor -> Properties option as it only shows 16 colours and no
options for resize.

Is it the driver problem or something else is going wrong? How can i sort it
out? How can i find what driver to download?

regards

Hi Rahman....

Your problem is simply not having the right video driver installed (it
probably is now the "Generic VGA" 640*480 driver)... Go to IBM's site,
and search for drivers for your type of laptop... then install it...
Prolly need a reboot, and you are in business man (pardon for the pun).

BTW: PDF files with the manuals are available there too... you might be
lucky!

You need a Windows98SE screen driver for that particular model. What is
the model number. Search the IBM. site for a suitable driver.
