I may be showing my age, but what's the point
of not using the shift key when normally literate
people would? Is this a new fad? What are
those who do this trying to say/prove?

Did I miss a memo?

One thing I've noticed is that this all lower case
posting seems to be more from those with problems
than from those answering them.

My first guess is that this is the result of our government
supported schools. It may be that this is what happens
when they run out of their Ridlen.

LoL;

Even more annoying is that people do not know the difference between "loose"
and "lose". I am even seeing newspapers and TV news spelling it wrong. I
attribute most mispellings to typos but some "mistakes" occur way too often.
As far as the caps issue, it is probably just due to the informal setting we
are in. These aren't business letters or anything.

that one drives me up the wall too! buncha "looser" spellin LOSERS! lol

i prefer not to use my shift key because i think it's cool, and i didn't
even attend public schools. it was twelve years of parochial for me. i
guess i'm rebelling. :)

Its because most of the people have grown up or adapted to the chat lingo
where they dont care about spelling or puncuation because it faster to type.
I have an excuse for my spelling. Im drunk

Or "there" and "their."

And there is at least one supercilious idiot who doesn't know how to spell
Ritalin!

The Flesch-Kincaid grade level to understand this posting was 4.4. That is
on the face of it. On the other hand why you would want to criticize others
or use your powers of observation to elevate youself to normal or literate.
(normally literate)? What about people that use contractions? Too lazy to
type both words?

ROFLMAO at your expense YMMV

"What about people that use contractions?"

Shouldn't that be, "What about people *who* use contractions?" (emphasis
mine) ;-)

I am usually to lazy. better things to worry about I guess. of course if
THEY ALL WERE CAPITALIZED PEOPLE WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THAT TOO.

Actually, wrong ;) I was thinking of penicillin. Been years since I've
even seen the word 'ritalin'!

I believe that he is misspelling "Ritalin"--the people who think that
the use of that medication is some kind of plot generally blow their
credibility by not even being able to spell the name of it correctly.

I'm not quite sure however why "running out of Ridlen" would cause one
to forget how to capitalize.
