Sorry to be off-topic, but wondering what's with microsoft.public.office.
It's filled with spam and looks like it's not being monitored or maintained.
At least microsoft.public.excel looks OK.

Actually, I shouldn't have said microsoft.public.office was filled with
spam, it just has a little bit--even that's too much, tho! I should have
said microsoft.public.shortcutbar--that IS filled with spam.

All this by way of saying "never mind my post"

I connect directly to the MSNewsservers. I can see by your headers that you
don't.

I saw lots of newsgroups under ms.public.office--you may want to be more
specific. But I didn't see any ms.public.shortcutbar on the MS Newsservers.

Maybe the spam is just on your ISP's newsservers.

You may want to connect directly to the MS Servers:

I use verizon's newsgroups--maybe that's the problem. I'll try what you
suggest. Thanks!

Dave, I just followed up on some of the info you gave here, and I'm amazed
at the difference between ms.public.office on the Verizon newsgroup and on
msn. It's like a different world!!! Many thanks!!

MS does a nice job deleting spam.
