Is this new wave of Gibe or the Sven that seems to have started in
Europe, today or yesterday?

It's not just you. My email has *quadrupled* just because of this one
virus? I find it quite incredible after all the publicity and warnings
going around. Meanwhile, I'm still virus free. *gloating*

Might want to read through alt.comp.anti-virus,
24hoursupport.helpdesk.

Holy Shi...
I just checked and I have over 205 so far, and it's still downloading!
The first was sent Thu, 18 Sep 2003 10:54:26 +0000 (GMT).

The new total: 212, and 8 more while I was composing this message, and
I haven't checked how many were kill in my bit bin account yet.

You are not alone. I live in Holland and have been getting them all day. I
think it's around 40 or 50 by now. And they are still coming.

If using Outlook Express or any such app(s) that allow you to create RULES for eMail messages =>
If the eMail is over XX KBs then: Do not download it from the server.
XX: 100 or so?

Thanks, I'll try that when I get the next batch.

I have had over 200 as well, Maxx. Do the math -- 200 x 154KB = 30MB+

Nice, eh? }:O\

That won't protect you. Some incarnations are smaller than 10KB.

sad that this is what the Internet has evolved to? A constant battle

That's the kind of world we live in. If there is an opportunity for
someone to hurt you, they will try to do it. Not everyone, but enough.

Where the To line does not contain 'myself@somewhere'
Delete it from server/mark it/whatever

will find most of them
unfortunately this will kill many email list posts as well

Yep... And I got another 540 yesterday before I drop the three affected
aliases. I can't check the kill count on the old bit-bin alias, but my
guess is that if I reactivate it would get ~300 a day. My Telus account
is limited to only 15MB, so maybe it's a good thing my Domain accounts
don't have that limit. }:8(
