Perhaps, "(e-mail address removed)", you fail to understand the utility of
posting to a dedicated "test" group (there are quite a few). And you posted OT
_twice_, "(e-mail address removed)".

Ignorance = did not know
Stupidity = knew, but did not care
Idiocy = still does not know

Given the 3 above possibilities, "(e-mail address removed)", I would not feel
out-of-place when certifying you as Stupid, and quite-possibly an Idiot.

Oh and before I forget - are you familiar with the term "PLONK" ?

Posting to alt.test only proves that posting to alt.test works.

Perhaps, Vrodok, you fail to understand that a subject with "OT" is meant
to be filtered out so you don't get bothered by such posts. It's a net
"standard" as much as posting a test to alt.test is. So stop being such
a hypocrite and go easy on the newbies, okay?

John,

Wrong: It proves that posting to that server works, and that you may expect
that the posts you make in other NG's also will show up. Why do you think
there are test groups???

If posting to a test NG works, then providing an answer to a question, or
ask a question, may be the proper way to see whether you can post to that
particular NG... If everybody who would like to test would do that here (or
in any other NG for that matter) the NG would become unusable...

Oh, BTW: If the OP's and your eMail addresses are your real ones... I would
start to munge them, unless you want to test the spamfiltering capabilities
of your provider's mail server...

"Test" posts (should) go into "test" groups. To paraphrase Bill
Clinton's political-strategist James Carville; "I am right, you are
wrong; end of story".

You are right. I did not know there was a newsgroup dedicated to running
tests on Usenet.

Ya, but it's a PITA to use.

Hardly.

When I am of a mind to make a test-post (change oif headers in my
posting-prograam, for instance; this has been the most common reason
as-of-late), I browse over to 'alt.test', download all new headers, then purge
these headers. Then, I compose & make my post, then wait a few minutes, after
which I, once again, grab all-new-headers.

Usually, by & at that point, there are perhaps 10 or less posts, thereby making
the spotting of ones' own post(ing) easier than spit <wink> : - )

How does that help you debug a problem related to a particular NG such
as ACF or whatever? I would guess that most people who post a message
to ACF are having problems with ACF, not alt.text.
