I want to make up a cd of free games for my 14 year old niece. The
problem is I don't know what type of games to look for. She says that
she likes Warcraft (commercial game. So something that is similar to it
would probably be good. She doesn't have internet so she can't look for
herself.

Cheers

Hi
You might want to ask in alt.comp.freeware.games also.

Have you checked www.kidsdomain.com?
Or
http://www.webattack.com/
http://www.freewarehome.com/
http://www.sover.net/~wysiwygx/index.html

You should be able to find what you're wanting by looking at these places:

http://www.acid-play.com/list/all_0.php
http://www.gamehippo.com/
http://www.the-underdogs.org/company.php?name=Freeware

and asking in the following group:

Good luck!

Note that I can't see any of Andy Mabbett's troll posts
because I have him killfiled.

I've just found what I've been hankering after for quite a long time:

Rescue from Space Invaders
http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/rrivero/myhomepage/rescue.html

Rescue from Space Invader 3.3: This game is a story twist on the Atari
version of Space Invaders. You have to rescue the ships that you
allowed to get captured back in the '80s by using the plasma cannon
without becoming captured yourself. Shooting a panicking invader will
give your troops the energy they need to raise and fire the plasma
cannon. Once freed, the ship will then join you in your mission to
free your ships of the past.
Online: http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/rrivero/myhomepage/rescue.html
OS: Windows 95/98. License: Free. Requirements: Soundcard, DirectX.

It's just been published on a magazine CD ROM in Australia called PC
User. November edition.
