What a deal. If you are having technical problems with other
programs related to Internet Explorer, try switching to Firefox. The
switch to Firefox appears to have completely solved my speech
recognition interaction problem while browsing. Preliminarily,
apparently it has also solved my need to reduce ZoneAlarm's firewall
setting from high to medium after the connection was idle for very
long. Apparently Internet Explorer had things going on under the
hood that weren't really necessary and complicated interaction with
other programs.
