(Maybe not the right newsgroup but I'd thought I'd try)
I need to make a self-launching CD, an Electronic Press kit, that will
launch the user's
default browser and load up my CD's splash page/table of contents, which
contains
links to some web sites, but mostly links to the content within the CD,
which is in
different formats:
Graphics in .psd, .tif, .jpg
Press Releases. World .doc
Color Data Sheets in .pdf
Logos in .eps
I don't really need to have to look for the various applications that open
these files,
but would at least have a "Download" button and a "Download All" button to
get this
data hierarchy from my local CD to the user's default download drive (or
ever a
browser to let them choose.
Anybody know of a template I can use? I understand it might contain both a
self-
executable PC file as well as a Mac script, or that I may have to have a
"Mac" and "PC" button for them to click to open up, say, a local .html page.
One thing I'm not sure of is how the file location string is going to look
if different
people have their CDs mapped to different locations (D:, E:, F:,), or is it
just "local:\"?).
Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks! BTW: quick and dirty is the best,
I'll make it look good, as long as structurally it has what I need.
TIA
