OT - Real PLayer (sorry)

Does anybody know preferably a free program in which I can convert files to
real media. I want to encode specificly avi to real media 8. I have tried
the free version of Helix producer but it only allows me to encode to Real
media 9.

The machines I am targetting only have Real media 8 capabitilty due to my
colleges restrictions.
