I received the following from Bob - the originator of our wonderful
"Multithreading in VB.VET" topic.
I'm posting it within the topic but also here at the top level in case you've
unmarked that thread.

If you are OT fatigued. - DONT LOOK - LEAVE NOW.

Hi Fergus,

Sorry I haven't responded until now, but I've been out of town and just got
back!

I'm also having a problem posting to that site, it's saying I don't have my
browser to not allow cookies, but that's incorrect.

Please let everyone know I appreciate their response, and didn't realize it
would spark such interest!
I really enjoyed everyones responses and had some good laughs!!

Amoung all the responses, I did get some good useful information.

I'll try to figure out the problem and post a response ASAP.

Thanks, and keep in touch!

By the way, if I would have written this app from the beginning, I would
have used visual C++ unmanaged! Does anyone know how much overhead dot NET
adds???

Bob

Fergus,

I don't understand your note, but would really like to read the thread.

Where is it?

TIA,

Larry Woods

Hi Fergus,

Well ain't that purty, a memorial thread for the dearly departed thread.
At least you got a thanks, some people don't even say thanks and have a pop
at you when your advice isn't to their liking, oh well :-)

Nick.

Slow internet connection?
Having problems with you job?
You're marriage is on the rocks?
You can't sleep at night?
You have a drink and drugs addiction?
You are sexually impotent?
Then enable Option Strict!

Hi Larry,

There are a couple of long long threads that have developed.

The one referred to here has the title - you'll never guess -
Multithreading in VB.NET - Lol.

But I shouldn't tease - I don't know what newsreader you're using, it
might be hard to find a topic.

It's dated 23rd August.

Another that you might want to have a butcher's at is: ListView -
Finding/Setting The selected Item. This one is newer: 20th August.

There are some priceless gems hidden under the most mundane topics :-D.

Regards,
Fergus

ps Nick, Last night was really quiet in the newsgroup (one topic per hour
quiet) I was going back through threads. I discovered the origin of Option
Strict On. Ahaaah , so <that's> where it all started.

Where all what started? ;-)

I have been quiet as I am not too well at the moment, and as well as that I
am making a new web site for VB.NET examples and such like. I thought it be
best that I gave the newsgroup a break from me for a while until I can
release something that will provide some solid help :-)

Hi Nick,

Although I picked up on you being the King of Option Strict Off, I hadn't
a clue when the Coronation occurred.

I'm sorry to hear that you're ill. :-(
Hope it's something trivial and temporary. :-|
And that you're soon better. :-)
And back to your old self again. :-D

Regards,
Fergus
