Many programs have web-based discussion forums about the program. Just for
an example, one of my favorites, xplorer2
( http://www.netez.com/2xExplorer/ )
has a forum at
http://netez.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=18.

I notice that many software links pages provide links to the home page for a
program, but no link to the discussion forum site (if it exists).

It would be nice if there were an online database of programs, with program
name, link to the program website, and a link to an associated discussion
forum.

I've tried googling for such a thing but no luck. For one thing, these
forums are described in many different ways - "message board", "webboard",
"community forum" etc. etc.

One benefit of such a database is that anybody requesting support for any
program could be quickly directed to the index of forums, or to the
appropriate web-based forum.

ACF's new P-program pages could be used - it *already* lists program
names and websites. . . 2 out of 3 ain't bad. . .

Each program can be linked to a file with additional information (a few
hundred apps have such files now).

ATM I'm still adding the *basic* information to the web pages.

I'll be happy to upload a file with forum information for a program if
someone furnishes the information (as it should appear on the web page).
I have a standard header and footer - all I need is the contents.
