Next utility seems nice, but can be considered spyware.
It sends anonymous data about attacks and atempts to the prevex.com. But
If you don't mind It might be a near perfect Internet protectin tool.

You can check it out for yourself at: http://www1.prevx.com/prevxhome.asp

I do not recall my firewall ever asking for prevx access to
the internet except to update.. But the real problem with
that software is that it is too demanding on the user. While
it offers good control it also requires that the user make
essential decisions, which I for one did not really know
whether to allow or not. Also I read somewhere that it was
easy to shutdown by hostile apps.

I've been using it these past few months. Like poster said, it doesn't uplink
anything except an update check. I just set PTFB to get the windows it
splashes on each boot.

It's a nice safety net to plug any holes in the Virus and Firewall apps. I
wouldn't use it in place of a regular firewall, though.

As far as making decisions, I'm using Kerio PF, so I'm used to that.

Actually I suspect it's no more easily shutdown by hostile apps than your
antivirus or firewall.

It's a different app covering a different area. But I think for me, it's
a more important part of my setup than my antivirus.

Want to make more decisions? Use Win sonar, or System Safety Monitor.
Then replace Kerio with Jetico. :)
