Ah..... I must make a "things I predicted and was right" web page. Since
whatever I have predicted ALWAYS came true :-).

Jupiter.. remember when you called Torrent "unreliable" a thing of Pirates,
viruses and corrupt files? Well read this:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12694081/

As I said... there will be a time when MS itself chooses torrent to
distribute contenet. Its only a matter of time.

And don't forget that Opera now includes a BitTorrent client integrated
into the browser. It certainly is starting to be used for legitimate
things now.

if you have a torrent client search for a video called:

"the future of bittorrent" or FutureOfBitTorrent.avi

This will open some eyes, and cause some jaws to remain open for several
hours....

Jupiter: I suggest you see it too, so you can understand what I was talking
about...

Just to add, here's a bit torrent FAQ, which I'm reading now as I've never
used the thing:

Are there legal implications? From reading the FAQ it seems one only gets
involved with the specific files one wants to. One's harddrive doesn't
become a repository for, say copyrighted material obtained w/o permission.
Or that's how I read the FAQ.

I've heard about how in the States one can get less jail time for walking
into a bar and clubing, kicking and beating someone into a coma than if one
uploads a movie [follow the money for "justice"]. Here, although to download
anything - so far - is A-OK, uploading copyrighted material w/o permission
might be illegal yet. So are there risks involved with this software, even
if one uses it "legitmately" as per the "authorities"?

Thanks

well if you download a linux distro you can be sure that you wont be in
trouble...
if you download the spiderman 3 movie that has just been released on dvd,
I am sure you can understand that it is not allowed... :-)

indeed one must be educated.

Good point.. I will set up a page for newcomers,
to explain and give some pointers...

Yeh, Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK are trying to develop this.
BitTorrent is cool I must admit and is a great way to share files; I just
wish that illegal content would disappear yer know...
