OT: Only able to get posts after August 04?

I recently formated and reinstalled my system. Now when I go into many of
Microsofts newsgroups (This one being my most common) I can only see
postings from August forward. Does anyone know if MS has recently done
something to their news server? There is a ton of info in the old posts
that I found through searching on occassion. And I would rather stick with
OE than go to the web interface.

We only try to maintain 60 days worth of posting data on our NNTP servers.
For searching older posts, I recommend http://groups.google.com. The 60 day
limit has been in place for at least a year, if I recall correctly. You
would have been able to see more data in OE on your machine because OE is a
caching newsreader and keeps a local cache of the messages you download.
