ot: no fiber lans for home use

I wonder why we aren't starting to see any home networking equipment for
fiber. I thought fiber was cheaper to mfg than copper now? When I tried
searching for fiber network cards they were only 100mbps, no 10gbps or even
1g
 
Likely the market isn't there. People aren't going to swap out Wireless
for fiber.

As with most hardware on the market, the demand needs to exist for the
devices to be made available. The more demand that there is, the more
they would make. The more they make, the more advancing they
develop. The more the develop, the cheap the prices become.

As previously posted, the newer trend is to push toward wireless
networking of "home" LAN with fiber networking as the Internet access.
