[OT] MSN through port 80

Hello all,


I'd like to use MSN on my work.

Does anybody know how I can connect to MSN through a firewall that only
allows you to connect through some selected ports.

If possible, I'd like to install some software (but which?) on my home
PC, and connect to that PC to make a redirect connection to the MSN
servers.

Can somebody explain how I can do that, and which software I have to
use?
I was told that Putty could do the job, but I don't know how to use it.

Install a proxy server such as the ones listed here to run on port 80:
http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/network/fwproxy.html and connect to MSN
via an http proxy.

Make sure you only allow your company's ip address/subnet to connect to the
proxy.

You install one of those free proxy software packages and read its
documentation on how to set it to run on port 80. Then you have to make sure
you can reach that port from the outside world.

Part of this would be to forward your router's port if you have one to your
lan's computer that had the proxy running on. The other part would be to
setup a dynamic dns client such as: http://www.no-ip.com/ so you could
always reach your proxy whenever your ip changed.

Then, find out your companies ip address you connect from. Like several days
in a row you can go here: http://dynamic.zoneedit.com/checkip.html and see
if it ever changes. Then enter that ip in the proxy server's ip based
allow/deny rules so only that ip can use the proxy. Open proxies are bad for
the internet and suck your bandwidth.

Lastly, set MSN to use a http proxy by entering your home's host name such
as myproxy.no-ip.com and port 80.
