OT?: MS Photo Editor defaults to BEST print quality. Way to change that?

Is there a way to change the default print quality for any graphics,
etc., we print out with MS Photo Editor? I often forget to change
that option manually when I go to print and it really eats up my
inkjet cartridges. I usu. need only FAST NORMAL.

Thanks. :)

Anyone?

There is something to try.
I use an Epson R300 and have two printers setup in windows that point to the
same physical printer.
One is setup for normal resolution, plain paper etc.
The other is setup for Photo quality.
The names displayed in windows printer selection are
Epson R300
Epson R300 Photo
I have the "normal" configuration setup as windows default, and the photo
configuration setup as a selectable printer.

Note: some printer drivers may not allow you to do this sort of thing,
although I haven't had that problem in recent times.
(An old HP printer driver written by MS come to mind.)

Thanks so much for your response. Reall appreciate it!

It won't fix the problem, but just out of curiousity how do you do
this, do you run the setup twice?

The reason this won't work is that MS Photo Editor is my choice of
editors for many small, quick tasks esp. with JPGs but I forget to
change the resolution on printing and 9 times out of 10, I have to
cancel the print job and start again, changing to 'fast' or 'fast
normal', etc. The same problem would occur if I had to select another
printer, I'd forget. But I'm curious all the same as to how you
handle getting 2 versions of the same printer but with different
settings. I can see that coming in handy for other things.

I'm guessing, hoping, that MS Photo Editor has a registry setting
somewhere that can be tweaked to allow one to change the default
printer resolution, but I haven't a clue as to where it would be or
how to fix it. So still hoping someone knows an idea on how to do
this.

Thanks. :oD

Yes, you sort of do a double install. The second install uses the existing
drivers.
(It's been a couple of years (or more) since I did this, so the gory details
are long forgotten.)

Okay, guys, how about a registry hack?? I'm up to trying that next
