Installation has SBS2000 with Exchange 2000 integrated on same server.

Client has received an Excel spreadsheet of name and address information
that he'd like to import it into a new contact list(or address list) in
Exchange for
manipulation and use by his staff.

I have looked through NG for instructions on how to "import" this data and
cannot find anything.

Can someone enumerate explicit instructions on how to create contacts or
address from an Excel Spreadsheet.

TIA

The way I would do this is by Importing the information in a new Contact
folder of a user then create a Public Folder Contacts and then drag and drop
from the new Contact Folder into the Public Folder Contacts.

Create a New Contacts folder by selecting || File || New || Folder || Give
it a name and make sure its of type "Contacts" (use the Folder Contains drop
down) save it to the Users mailbox.

Use the File || Import/Export || to import the information into this new
Contact Folder by following the wizard.

Create a Public Folder using the same steps to create a new contacts folder
but make sure it is saved under the ALL Public Folders Hierarchy

Go to the New Contacts folder in the Users Mailbox and from the Edit Menu
select "Select ALL" and then again from the Edit Menu select Copy to Folder
and select the Public Contact Folder.

You can then if necessary delete the New Contacts folder in the Users
Mailbox.

If you want the Public Folder Contacts to show up when you address an email
you will need to enable it as an Email address book by right clicking the
folder selecting Properties and then Outlook Address Book and checking the
appropriate box.
