OT: Is freezing registry a practical choice?

There is a program called "RegFreeze" (http://www.regfreeze.net/).
It makes sense to use a Registry Freeze program to avoid from tons of
spyware or others.
On the other hand, there got to be some problems with running computer
while registry was frozen.
I am pondering whether I should buy this program or not. I am seeking your
advise on this.
What do you think? narusato
