IrfanView with the plugins has the function to automatically rotate an image
using the jpeg lossless operations.

Can anyone tell me how this can be done to many files all at once - ie
automatically rotate all files in a folder?
The Batch Conversion/Rename doesn't seem to enable you to do this.

Thanks
Ben

You might look at Xnview http://www.xnview.com/

Two ways to do it.

1) use the thumbnail browser, select the pictures, right-click and
choose JPEG Lossless Conversions (or Shift-J). It will overwrite your
pictures with the rotated version and redisplay all the thumbnails.

2) use batch convert, choose the pictures you want, choose Set Advanced
Options, choose "rotate left" or "rotate right" under "Other Options."
There is a bit more to this. You can rename at the same time and copy
to another location or overwrite the original depending on the
settings.

I am not sure if option 2 uses the lossless function. I always rotate
using option 1.

The batch dialog allows single 90-degree (lossy) rotations, but this might
be undesirable.
