Never heard of wefax or teletext...did you mean Telnet?

Others:
HTTPS
DNS
SMTP
ICMP
SSH
PPTP
IPSec

RSS uses HTTP for its transport.

Webopedia (http://www.webopedia.com) can get you basic information on
each protocol. From there, Google is your friend.

You might start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_protocols and
take it from there.
You can even click on the listed protocols and you will be handed the
explanations on what they do or are used for.

There's also HTTPS (secure ver of HTTP) and P2P.

Teletext is an information service used behind UK TV services.

And smtp and many others.

For the networking and internet stuff, go to the RFCs for canonical
information on _all_ the openly accessible protocols,
<http://www.rfc-editor.org> (watch the '-' in the middle there!)

Teletext is defined in an ISO standard IIRC. I used to have a copy of
it, a couple of decades ago, but I suspect it's been eaten by something.

teletext ?

Is digitally controlled Text. Analogue, via air or cable.

BTX. But it is not internet. More a kind of modem-to-modem protocol.
More flexible than standard-modem, though. A kind of internet
predecessor (locally regioned... some other states had the same, but
with an other name than BTX), in times where ~3MHz was standard at Home.

Good Luck!
