OT installing XP

hi, got a new hard drive which i connected in my pc.managed to copy
files with 'xcopy' from my C: drive but it wont let me copy the
windows/system explore shows the file list and the windows andsystem
folders are there but empty. could anyone advise me if this is
possible please. thinking of disconnecting my C: drive and restarting
with the xp install disc in the cd drive but afraid i'll finish my pc
off altogether, thanx for any help Don

oldgit:

Drive manufacturers often provide drive cloning software to transfer
and intact OS to the new drive. Check the web site of the new drive's
manufacturer and you can almost certanly find a utility to do what you
want.

Or you can use a free generic drive clone program like "Copy-Wipe"

There are versions for both DOS (can be used from a boot floppy or CD)
and Windows.

Xcopy does not handle system files properly. I recall there is a free prog
called XXcopy that does. http://www.xxcopy.com/index.htm The other software
mentioned will work fine too.
