Hey guys.

I have a new problem. My Windows file Explorer no longer has a find
function or dialog.

Hitting Ctrl+logokey+F yields an error:

"The active directory domain service is currently unavailable."

Is this common? Is there a known solution?

Thanks for any assistance in this matter.

Although this is not an excel question, what I ussually do is.....
Right click on the start menu, select search

The supportive file of Windows Search may be not be available in that
particular location.

Windows Explorer.

Any drive. Don't be silly. I am not a novice.

The function used to be there. Now there is no window for the search
criteria, nor any other method.

Searching is gone everywhere short of in help file.

Not sure whether the below will solver your problem, anyway try it.

In RUN type services.msc and press OK.

Check that and enable the service, which match your requirement.
