Hi guys,

I'd like to know if it's possible to use Far Cry as a benchmark
utility for the different tweakin I'm about to do on my system, i.e.
can it show the FPS (if yes how do I enable it) and is there a
timedemo or something equivalent to use?

TIA

This is what many people have been using to bench FarCry.
http://www.benchemall.com/

It's shareware and if you don't register it will definitely nag you but
it will still work.

This is what the output looks like:

The default benchmark is all outside without much action but it works
for comparison purposes.

I bought a dog the other day... I named him Stay. It's fun to call
him... "Come here, Stay! Come here, Stay!" He went insane. Now he just
ignores me and keeps typing. - Stephen Wright

It's funny how that article has a whole bunch of discussion on how
you've got to go download patch 1.2 and what great things it does and
what great features it adds.
Too bad it hasn't been released yet and is two plus weeks late.

Oh yeah... Didn't even notice that! lol...

I think the benchmark works anyway.

Hi axexango. I dont think theres a "timedemo" function, but you can open
the Console by pressing the Tilde key ~
On my Microsoft UK keyboard its ` (just above the Tab button)

type "\r_displayinfo 1" to show frame rate, and other info.
type "\r_displayinfo 0" to turn the thing off.

Alex.

BTW Far Cry Patch1.2 is now out http://www.farcry.ubi.com/
