Hey all wondering if you can help me, Can I still use dial up on a totally
seperate pc while im using adsl?, I would assume it would work because its
using the voice line. Thanks for any help.
TIA
Ellis
Let me get this straight. Two PC's, one phone line. One is accessing
ADSL, the other dial-up?
If the PC's are accessing separate internet accounts, then the answer
is a definite YES. A dial-up modem is the same as any other
voice-phoneline device.
If you're talking using the 10 hours or so of emergency dialup time
that most DSL accounts come with, that will depend on the ISP. Some
ISP's don't have a problem with two people being logged into the same
account at the same time, but most do. You have to check with your
ISP to find out.
This is obviously the same household (you're using the same phone
line). Most people in this situation get a router and a couple of
network cards to share the DSL connection. You can use a wireless rig
or a traditional ethernet setup.
