OT - CIS.DFE.DE server down?

For already three hours now the CIS-server shows no more new
messages. I already posted one through the CIS server but I don't
see it anymore...

Hi Henk, same here. Hamster gives me this message-

actively refused it (10061), auf API 'connect'
2003/08/14 12:33:07 {284} Connection to News.CIS.DFN.DE failed!

So it's not just you. :)
 
I read on another NG that they'd had a failure and the announcement is
posted on their website.

that's right. The server downed after about 09:00 UTC. And when I tried
a second time at about 10:00 UTC ther came a short message similar that
the server is down for maintenance reason. Well, today when I contacted
the server again at about 08:00 UTC all looks ok and I got all NGs and
postings normal/as usual.

It's right that the server news.cis.dfn. is changing his name - see

I corrected my Mail-/NewsClient about one week ago onto the new name

News.Individual.De (because i'm German)

and all is working fine as before.

The english would be

News.Individual.Net

as to see at

http://news.cis.dfn.de/

All clear now?

They also had problems with the 'Blaster' virus.
