Since printing is involved....
I made up a Christmas letter in Print Shop.
I exported it as a bitmap (.bmp) image. It looked fine.
I opened the bitmap file in Adobe Acrobat and saved it as a pdf file.
It looks fine.
But Adobe cropped the margins out of the image.
When I try to print the pdf, it makes its own margins and cuts off part of
the sides, top, and bottom of my letter.
I see no option to "shrink to fit".
I want to send the letter in pdf format so people can just print it out.
I know that this isn't a printer question, but if someone would be so kind
as to point me to the right place for help, I'd sure appreciate it!
Thanks.

I've never had much luck getting PrintShop and Acrobat to cooperate.

PrintShop has it's own "save to PDF" function in most versions. If you have
Adobe printer driver installed, you can also print directly to PDF from
PrintShop. In Adobe, you should have a print dialog option for "scaling"
with a drop down for the various "shrink to" options.

Just curious as to why you don't just print directly from PrintShop? It
would be pretty helpful if you mention what versions of PS and Adobe you are
using.

It's Print Shop 15 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0
I'll go back and see if Print Shop has the "Save to pdf" option.
I discovered that Print Shop itself was what cropped out the margins when
I exported it as a bitmap. But after pasting the bitmap into a new empty
document and creating margins again, Adobe cropped them back out.

My reason for converting is that I want to email it out to several
people, most of whom probably don't have Print Shop. If I don't figure it
out, I'll probably just send them as a jpg.

But I haven't given up yet... :-) Thanks for your input!

OK, the Save as PDF option was there. So I tried it that way but with the
same results. No margins.

Lil-

Can you create a margin-sized all-white object, and paste it where you
want to increase margins?

Put a slightly off white dot of one pixel size in each corner.

The idea is to provide the automatic cropping with a boundary
that includes your margins. If a single pixel doesn't do it,
put a line in each corner. Perhaps start with something dark
that you can see easily and make it smaller and smaller to find
out how large it has to be to work, and then change it to a less
noticeable color. Yellow is a color that is very hard to see if
the size is small and it is on a white background, hence I would
try four yellow dots, one in each corner, for starters.
