I can't seem to access www.betanews.com anymore with my broadband connection
(I can't even ping it) yet I can with my dial-up connection? Anyone have any
ideas what the problem could be?.

Maybe something screwy with the DNS server your broadband connection is
using. You might note the IP and add it to your hosts file.

I just accessed it here, not that that tells you anything.
 
Currently it's IP seems to be 140.99.102.70
If I recall, they recently revamped the look of the site, so perhaps they
moved it too?

If you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP you might want to make sure
the DNS Client service is stopped (since it can cache failed lookups and
generally cause a lot of havoc). I recommend not running that service at all
on client machines.
