Need help here. I bought an used motherboard which model is the same as the
computer I store a lot of important programs and data. After its arrival, I
disassembled my computer and put everything on the new motherboard.
Unfortunately the new system won't boot. There is nothing displayed and all
I can hear was one long beep and three short ones. I reversed the process
and found my old motherboard works just fine. Then I did it again but this
time more carefully. But I got disappointed one more time.
Now I began to do little things such as replace new battery and clear CMOS.
Somehow I just switched the system's AIW8500DV with a retired AIW128Pro and
this time it boot. The whole experience is quite odd to me. All I can think
of is that this particular motherboard pairing with AIW8500DV need more
juice than 250watts power supply can offer (the PS is a very high quality
brand). Any idea will be appreciated. Thanks.
