Auntie Em

If anybody is actually using this program and would be willing to help me
with it a bit, would you please contact me in this ng or at
(e-mail address removed). Their technical support costs $40 and I have a very
simple problem.

Thanks in advance.

I use it, so perhaps I can help?

Well, actually, I don't think the problem is with MailEnable because I also
downloaded some trial versions of some other email servers and had exactly
the same problem. It seems that I can RECEIVE emails through my domain but
I cannot SEND them. In each case I receive a error message that the message
cannot be sent to the remote server.

I can't understand how to fix this. Like I said, the results are exactly
the same when I used four other servers. Do you have any idea how I can get
this to work? I am lost. I simply CANNOT get the server to send mail.

Thanks for your help. It's so frustrating!

It could be that the remote server is rejecting all e-mail from non-
mail server IPs. A lot of mail servers do this to block spam; it's
VERY annoying to me, buton the other hand I can see why they do it.
Unfortunately, if this is the case, there's nothing you can do; it's
an issue on their side, not yours.

Does your ISP block external SMTP access?

They should, as it reduces SPAMming and virus propagation.

Not so simple way to check, "telnet 12.158.38.251 25" and see if you get
an SMTP HELO message.

Cheers,

No I got nothing. Just a black screen. Maybe this is the problem.

Arghhhhhh, I bet this is the problem, since I am certain that I configured
my outgoing SMTP information correctly. I can see whay they feel compelled
to do this, spamming is such an issue, but it certainly makes things tough
for people.

Thanks for your reply. I really thought I was going nuts, either that, or I
had become a computer idiot. It looks like I will have no choice but to use
a webmail feature when my ISP's mail server is down - Now I am beginning to
understand why so many peoples email addresses end with yahoo.com or
hotmail.com.

Thanks again foryour help.
