Does any one know where to get a file system reader to
install on WIN XP that will read old back up data CD's
created with PACKET CD software that stored the files in
the OSTA UDF format - which is not readable under XP?

Thanks,
Lane

Write CD-RW will do it but you'll have to purchase the app
http://www.softarch.com/us/products/wcdrwWinfeature.html I tested it by
installing Packet CD on a Windows 98 test system. I formatted a CD-R/W and
burned a variety of files to the disk. I then installed Write CD-RW on an XP
test system and it was able to open and read the Packet CD disk with no
problem. Personally I'm not a big fan of Write CD-RW as I find it to cause
some stability problems with XP but it really does open all packet formatted
disks I've tried it with including Prassi abcd (Sony abcd) Packet CD, early
versions of InCD and Direct CD that XP can't read natively.
