When transfering captured video onto my computer the date
and time diplay does not record....is there somewhere in
movie maker to select OSD (on screen display)so the date
and time will show on my movie once on the computer.

Hi there,

The short answer is no.

If you want a date/time display, you would have to create it with the text
option and you would have to manually change the readout your self...not a
very good idea if its a long video.

Even though you may see the date and time display on your camera LCD preview
and on the TV when you connect your camera to it, the output that is sent to
your computer when you capture video does not include this data.

The date and time is well sent to the computer (it is embedded in each
frame). If you select the option "create clips" when importing in MM2, each
clip gets a name referring to its date and time.
But it is true that you can not make this information appear on the movie.

That's right, if your source is DV. It's how MM2 recognises that you've
stopped/started your camera and creates the clips. I wish other software
could do this as it's very useful!!
