OS2/WARP XP Pro Boot/Splash Screen?

Okay okay.. admittedly I was tinkering with the boot screens.... However I did take the "safe route" by making copies of ntoskrnl.exe, then booting off the modified versions using additional entries in the boot.ini file.. However, the most bizzare thing occured when I got bored and started booting off my stock, unmodified (sp1a) ntoskrnl.exe. I started getting an OS2/Warp Splash screen with an IBM logo in the corner??? Needless to say, it's just an annoyance, however I'd really like to figure out what bit was flipped so I can get my XP screen back... I used a resource viewer to double check the bitmap in the ntoskrnl.exe which is being used, and sure enough, it's NOT an OS2/Warp bitmap.. So I really have no clue where this is coming from.

If anyone's ever seen this, or knows how to nuke the lil bugger, lemme know

Thanks

Brian

Fixed it! Very bizzare... When you edit and save the boot.ini file, it seems to lose it's hidden and system file attributes (which is OK I suppose). When I applied the +S +H attributes back to the boot.ini file, it stopped displaying the OS2/WARP splash screen, and reverted back to the default Windows XP Pro splash screen... =)

Thanks,

There is a free program called BootSkin (http://www.bootskin.com) that
changes boot screens without messing with your Windows kernel file.
Ironically, BootSkinc comes with an OS/2 Warp 4 boot screen (it's made by
Stardock which developed a lot of OS/2 software so it's in there for
nostalgia purposes).
