Hello,
I am having problems with OS/400 scripts that pull files
from ftp sites over the internet. We just upgraded our
Proxy server to Windows 2000, and when the operators try
to run the script, it askes them for a user name and
password. Does anyone know what is causing Windows to ask
for authentication before using the proxy service, because
everything is fine on Windows 2000 desktop. Also, it was
working fine before the upgrade in Windows NT.

Thanks in advance,
Gene

Guessing here, but the desktops are authenticated to a Windows account
and allowed access theorugh the proxy, while you're using an
unauthenticated account (or not even a Windows account) from the
AS/400. Best bet is to exclude the AS/400's IP from the proxy (bypass
the proxy) and use your firewall to allow port 20/21 on connections
initiated from inside only.
