Organizing Start Menu

I want to organize the start menu by alphabetization, but
lately it's been just adding new programs onto the end in
a new sort, instead of the whole Start menu being just
one list. Get what I mean? How do I fix this?

It's easy enough to alphabetize your Start menu. Just 'drag and drop' the
programs wherever you like. There may be a more elegant way of achieving
alphabetical order, but drag and drop takes seconds and doesn't require any
tweaking.

Hmm--works for me with Classic start menu or XP Start Panel.
It also works on my main system where I have all items sorted into custom
folders.

Just curious-What customizations have you made to the start menu?

Oop's... got to back out of this one. I never felt a need to do it and I
tried it and I didn't like it. Really, I tried it and let the pointer slip
to a sub-folder, it works

JAX;
I only use the sort by name after installing a lot of new software.
I like the new stuff to be at the bottom, until I use it for a while to see
if I'm going to keep it. I then usually move into another folder anyway.

I have my share of screwed up stuff with XP, but all the alpha-numerical
sorting stuff works. :o)

Keep having fun.

Wes,

I just had to replace a hard drive and I am still getting things back the
way I want them. Normally, I only have about 8 items on the "All Programs"
list.

I always have fun, you do the same.
