Organize Inbox

Jennifer

My boss has asked about using colors to organize his
inbox so I thought I would try it first then explain the
How to later:
When attemping to organize the Inbox using Colors, I
selected the message from my inbox from sender Jennifer
Jones, then I selected the color "blue" when I clicked on
the Turn On button all messages from every Jennifer in
the company had turned blue. Anyone have a explaination
for why?
We are using Outlook 2002 and are on an Exchange 5.5
server, I point to the GAL which is in Last, first name
format.

Thanks

Instead of using the Organize button to create color rules, you might want
to try editing the Automatic Formatting rules directly. You can get to the
Automatic Formatting dialog by clicking the link from the Organize | Using
Colors tab or via View | Current View | Customize Current View and clicking
the Automatic Formatting button.

For a rule to mark messages from a certain sender the color of your choice,
click the "Condition" button and then the From button, and add the Exchange
users from the GAL that way. It should work because the address formats and
display names are standardized. For internet senders, I would use just the
e-mail address since the sender may have his/her display name configured
differently than you have it in your Contact list.
