When I go to organize favorites....specifically to change the order of
my LINKS folder that appear on my task bar. I make all the
changes....and everything APPEARS normal...but then none of them take
effect.

I get no warning that anything is "locked" etc. Does anyone have
suggestions on where to lok or what to try?

Thanks for any and all help.

BTW....XP Home.

Hi :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Click on the word Favorites on the *menu* bar and when a Favorite flies out,
right click on it and select "Sort by name." Do not use the Favorites with
the star on the Toolbar or in the Favorites side panel, it will not work.
You may also do it from Start>Favorites.

How does Links Folder work?
You can drag this folder from the Favorites to IE toolbar for quick(er)
access
to your most-used links.

You can also try this free utility. It works very well:
FavOrg: To save Favicons -
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Bookmark-Managers/favorg.shtml

This allows you to save them permanently in a different folder and
re-associate your favorites with the stored icons. It also verifies whether
your links in Favorites are still good.

If still no joy, it is possible that you have a corrupted Favorites folder:
Create a new Favorites folder as per the instructions here

Hope this helps.
