Org chart type diagram in report?

Any controls or ideas on doing an linked org chart other than placing text
boxes and lines in a report?
 
I would not attempt to do this with Access unless I wanted to spend a lot of
time working on a project that could be done with other software much easier.
Visio has the ability to link to an ODBC datasource and automatically create
an org chart.
 
I'm looking for this functionality too... Unfortunately, expecting my users
to have Visio is just not realistic or cost effective. Anyone have other
alternatives?
 
Can you define "not realistic or cost effective"? I expect it would be
possible to create an org chart with an Access report. However, handling
multiple levels of employees and lots of unknowns would take much more
resources than purchasing Visio or some other program.

If this type of report was even just a little difficult I would expect
someone would have done it. I have considered giving this a try as a "for
fun" project but it's been on the back burner for a long time since I expect
it would take quite a few hours to make a report that can handle a medium
sized company.
