hello,

i have office 2000. i use to have an org chart tool, but now i can't find
it. i looked on microsoft's web site for it, but can't find it. i have the
installation cd's, but couldn't find it there. i was wondering if anyone
knew the installation file name for the package, that way i could search for
it.

also, i've read that office 2003 doesn't let you use the org chart tool that
was available in prior versions. is there a way to work around this and use
the old org chart tool in the new version of office.

does office 2003 have another chart tool? if so, what is it called. i'd like
to read up on it before i upgrade to office 2003.

thank you

hi joseph,

can you tell me how to get to the new org chart tool in powerpoint 2003,
once the package is open.
the reason i'm asking is because some of my students have 2003 and they say
that they can't find the tool.

in powerpoint 2000 it's insert --> picture --> org chart to get to the org
chart software.

thank you

In PPT 2003, they just need to select a slide layout with the Org Chart
on it. They can also select one of the layouts with "content." That will
give them 6 options -- table, chart, clipart, picture, diagram or org
chart, media clip -- they just need to click the diagram or org chart
icon.

In the Office 2000 installation sequence, I think Org Chart is listed
under common files or shared applications or something to that effect.
Check there.

But what makes you think that you now don't have the tool? What happens
when you try to create an Org Chart in PPT 2000?

I'm not sure, to tell the truth. I know you can keep the old org chart
tool on your system to work on org charts created with it, but I don't
know how inserting new ones would work. I'll look in the MSKB tonight
and see what I can find if nobody else has done it by then.

It's the "diagramming tools," but it's not a stand-alone application,
it's built in to PPT. I doubt you'll find a lot of documentation on it,
to tell the truth.
