Whenever I try to start Movie Maker I receive this error message, "The
ordinal 466 could not be located in the dynamic link library WMMUtil.dll.
Does anyone have a fix for this? The program never starts.

Thanks

Thanks PapaJohn,

I searched my computer for the WMMUtil.dll and renamed all of them to
WMMUtil.dl_. They were all the 77,885 bytes files. Then I ran MovieMaker. I
received an error message that the dll was missing and another notice from
XP that I had to insert the XP Install CD which I did. When the splash
screen came up I clicked Exit. I started Movie Maker again and this time it
worked.

I checked the WMMUtil.dll and now they were the larger 163,897 bytes files.
I checked to see which version of Movie Maker I had and it was Version
1.1.2427.1 so I installed Version 2 again and restarted the program but I
still have the same version.

Any thoughts?

Thanks again

PapaJohn,

I have tried everything that you offered on your Website and nothing works.
I guess I will just have to settle for version 1.2 for now. Perhaps I will
have better luck with 2.1 when SP2 is released to me. Maybe I should just
switch to Linspire. At least they try to make everything work properly ;)

Thank you very much for your help,

Gerry

I just wanted to update everyone interested. I installed XP SP2 and it
installed Movie Maker 2.1 successfully.

Thanks Throttles,

I'll remember that information the next time I have a problem but since I
installed XP SP2 I have been able to use the new MM2.1. I can't compare it
to version 2.0 but it is much better than version 1.2 because of the "Tools"
that it provides.
