Windows Vista Ordinal 442 Error message

Hi, newbie here

I hope you guys and gals can help me with a Vista Home editon Premium Problem?

The follwing message appears when I load a programme or open a word doc

" The ordinal 442 could not be located in the dynamic link library OLEAUT32.DLL"

I have downloaded a new OLEAUT32.DLL file - no joy

I have run sfc /scannow - no joy

I have run the programme Registryfix - whilst it found some faults and fixed them, still the same old message

i would welcome any constructive advice

Pain in the Ass

I am getting the same message. 'The ordinal 442 could not be located in the dynamic link library OLEAUT32.DLL.' I have tried installing and uninstallling programs, as I thought it might be an Adobe problem, or something associated to real time player, but nothing seems to cure it. I have checked out the microsoft help site and when i try to download a fix, guess what, it comes up with,'The ordinal 442 could not be located in the dynamic link library OLEAUT32.DLL.

HELP!!!!
