I have been reading about the new features for CF comming in orcas,
and am particularly interested in the WCF features using mail as the
channel.
From the couple of blog entries I have read It seems that there is a
requirement for Exchange 2007 on the backend, can anyone confirm if
this is true?

I have access to a Exchange 2003 box with Sp2 on it to give me push
email, but would be disappointed if I had to have 2007 as I know my
company's IT guys are not planning an upgrade in the near future.

It looks a very good feature and will solve several problems I am
having at the moment.

Exchange 2007 is required for the out-of-the-box store and forward
technology. However, the CF team provided all the hooks needed to create
your own transport, so you can create something that uses any mechanism
you'd like. It's just going to take a bit longer to develop.

Can you recommend any articles / resources for writing your own
channel.

Thanks

Craig

I really think this is a bad idea... but i may be surprised.

We implemented store and forward with Roman Kiss WS-Eventing and a
small XML message storage service for the pull

Most corporate mail servers have all manner of applications that
block , hold/scan and mangle mails so does that mean we need our own
custom exchange server ?

Also im concerned when my mail message dissapear for 2 hours.

You can also do MSMQ store and forward on hand helds ( still not
great ) but no WCF support.

Regards,

Ben
